It is customary to play for the "finals" of numbers according to the track, in the form of oral bets to the dealer.
In fact, we place ordinary neighbors (chips in multiples of 5), but in a rather peculiar way.
Any numbers end with a certain digit. A set of roulette numbers that have the same ending are grouped into a corresponding final. For example, the finals of the four are 4, 14, 24, 34.
But there is a certain arrangement of some endings on the wheel that makes betting on them attractive to many players:
"Finals of twos" - these are 4 columns of neighbors on 2, 12, 22, 32. They completely cover the large series and close the edges of 17, 9, 31.
"Finals of the small series of threes" - these are 3 neighbors in numbers 13, 23, 33. It completely covers the entire small series and insures the edges: 1, 20, 6.
If you simply say
"Final Threes", the dealer will place 13, 23, 33 and add the neighbor 3 to the zero-spiel. So be careful when placing your call bets.
An alternative to oral bets is to play finals on the roulette field. Personally, I like to link adjacent finals with splits, for example 1/4, 11/14, 21/24, 31/34. Four chips can hold 2 full sets of finals at once.
