To avoid problems with Windows, always install a clean Windows MSDN image, without any builds like "Zver DVD" etc., and then the activator on top, and try not to install anything that you don't know how it works and why you need it.
A long time ago my Playtech client didn't want to work on a clean 7, but on a clean 10 everything worked.
