Arkady came to work on the morning shift after the weekend and started to find out the latest news. The main event in the life of the establishment over the past two days was the new clients who had arrived a day ago and had not left since then. These guys were playing high-stakes poker (from $500 in ante). They did not allow strangers to their table. The casino management had sent down a directive to the staff prohibiting communication during work at this table on extraneous topics, except for comments on the game. They said that the new guests were Russian guys, but some very difficult ones. And in order not to be excruciatingly painful and offensive later, it was suggested to maintain a classic line of behavior towards them. Arkady went out into the gaming room for his shift and saw three people sitting in chairs in the recreation area and one young man at the gaming table. He was able to get a better look at him only when he got to that table. He had an extraordinary appearance. Very tall (when he stood up, he turned out to be no shorter than Max, Arkady's classmate) and very thin, with noble features framed by jet-black hair, he resembled a rock musician. His name was Sergey. And his friends addressed him only by his nickname - Needle. His leadership in the company was not disputed, all requests were carried out in a military manner, clearly and without unnecessary conversations. The company did not drink alcohol: as Arkady later learned from his waitress girlfriend, one of the Russian-speaking owners of the establishment categorically forbade pouring them any drinks containing alcohol. Because these guys, after drinking, became insane and, worst of all, uncontrollable. Having received so many interesting inputs, Arkady became a little timid when it was his turn to go to work. Needle played for two boxes, silently raising cards. His face showed no emotion: no joy from winning, no annoyance from losing, no disappointment that a strong combination didn’t work out… In a word, poker face. Arkady did his job, saying only what a dealer should say. Having paid for a good combination, Arkady congratulated the client out of habit. - What are you congratulating me on? - I congratulate you on a paid full house (a combination of five cards: a pair + a “three”, paid sevenfold). - Do you know how many of these full houses you have to give me so that we could get at least some of our money back? Arkady didn’t dare to be squeamish, like “I don’t owe anyone anything”. But he had to say something, and Arkady found the most harmless option to continue the conversation: - Well, it’s a start… - And he immediately received a tip for his quick-wittedness.

I didn't feel like sitting at home, so I decided to "check the suit" and have a drink or two to lift my spirits. There was a casino in the hotel five minutes' walk from the entrance to my house. The game was played in rubles. I wanted to stretch out my stay and not immediately put all my money into the game. That's why I chose the most "calm" and leisurely game - poker. There was only one free seat at the poker table, on the last box, and I took it. The game was led by a girl dealer, and next to her, on a high chair, more reminiscent of a royal throne, sat a young inspector. The game was neither here nor there with a slight advantage (quite legal and justified) in favor of the dealer. There were no large payouts, no interesting combinations were shown, and ante after ante our chips migrated to the dealer's fleet[4]. A spirit of discontent began to grow at the table, usually expressed with strong swear words or a whole tirade directed at the dealer. When the girl dealer opened a straight combination (popularly called "straight" - five cards of different suits in ascending order) and "killed" most of the boxes playing in this hand (I, fortunately, did not find a combination in my cards, and did not bluff and simply threw them away along with the ante), the usual muttering under the breath with a list of all the actions that will be or have already been committed with her and her closest relatives, stopped and a crazy scream began. One representative of the Caucasian republics who had played out and unsuccessfully performed in this game (by the way, this hotel, built for the 1980 Olympics, was and is under the "roof" of people from Transcaucasia) very zealously expressed his displeasure and demanded an immediate change of the dealer. A Russian-speaking young man in a gray suit approached the table and tried to calm down those gathered. Having listened to the strict demands for an immediate change of the dealer, he let go as the girl, as well as the boy inspector, and he himself stood at the table. Those gathered did not react in any way to the fact that now the game was being conducted by a person occupying a leadership position in the casino hierarchy. No one had any respect for his jacket. The same monotonous muttering about the hands, face and relatives of the newly arrived dealer did not stop for a second: it would either die down a little or flare up with renewed vigor, depending on the payouts taking place at the table. The guy in the jacket abstracted himself from everything around him, showing with his whole appearance that he did not hear anything and all the words were not about him at all. Meanwhile, my stock of chips decreased a little. Nothing worthy of a good payout came to me, and I had not seen a combination better than a pair of tens in an hour of play. And so, opening the cards, I find a pair of aces there! Despite the fact that it is forbidden (looking at other people's cards, as well as exchanging information about your cards is strictly prohibited!), I am happy to share the joy of my neighbor at the table, who has a pair of kings. His comrade also has a king, but there is also some small pair. Everyone decides to place a bet [5]. There is a "friendly" atmosphere at the table, all the participants in the game know that someone has one queen (one of the dealer's five cards is always put up, and in this deal it was the queen that was up), and almost everyone places a bet. The "jacket" turns over his cards and puts forward a combination - three queens!!! A sigh of disappointment is heard at the table - it is difficult to imagine that someone has something more! Some in their hearts sharply move their losing cards and bets in the direction of the dealer, someone is waiting for the dealer to reveal his cards and suddenly there will be something unseen there. First, the dealer collects the bets that have been recognized as losers by their owners. He has the right not to open the cards pushed in his direction and, before taking them, must check the presence of all the chips participating in the game on this box and first take them, and then only the cards. Further payment for the boxes occurs from left to right (the box furthest from the inspector's chair is paid first). After our croupier performed the pleasant procedure of "hilling" the pushed boxes, he opened my cards (since I was sitting at the last box and it was necessary to start comparing the combinations with me) and made sure that my pair of aces was weaker than his trio of queens, and put the chips in the fleet. I was just about to sympathize with my neighbor with a pair of kings, when - oh, miracle! His two kings multiplied, and there were three of them!!! I could not believe my eyes! I saw his cards! And there were only two of them! How could this happen? In fact, the chest was simply opened. His comrade, as I said earlier, had a small pair. He still had it, only the king jumped from his box to the neighboring one. As a result of this little scam, my neighbors on the left won 2 bets or 4 ante for two and were very pleased with themselves.

Poker was and is considered the most "dangerous" game in terms of possible fraud. If in all other games the casino client acts most of the time as an observer of the game process (visually assesses the strength of a particular bet on blackjack, since the cards are dealt face up, watches the ball spin in the roulette wheel and tries to "calculate" the fall sector, making bets on the playing field), then poker is the only game in which the player must take the cards in his hands to decide on the fate of the initial bet (ante). It is at the moment when the cards are in the player's hands that the greatest danger is concentrated. It is important that all the cards are above the table in the field of vision of the croupier and the inspector (a casino employee from among the croupiers, whose duties include monitoring the situation at the gaming table). It is unacceptable, having taken the cards in your hands, to get up and leave the table or to hold some of the cards in your hands, and, for example, put the other ones on your lap or give them to your neighbor to hold. Cards dealt to a box with the inscription "Ante" can be taken only by one person (even if a guy and a girl come and the girl does not understand anything about poker, then her companion, explaining what and how to do, cannot allow her to take 3 cards out of 5, and himself to look at 2). Due to the potential threat lurking in the possibility of committing any machinations with the cards, in many gambling establishments there was a "classic" ban on playing poker on 2 boxes.

TTR By the way, I'm incredibly glad that I quit poker, I'll explain why now. I had a similar issue, let's say I had some money, like 10k on bookers. I think - I need to get some money, I deposit 50 bucks - I go to PL100, I lose it in 1 hand - I deposit 200, then 500, then 2k and 5k and I lose all my money. In a casino, I deposit 50 bucks, spin it for a normal amount of time, I win - I withdraw, I lose - I go to another one and deposit the same 50 bucks. Unlike poker, here you can't screw up the result in 1 hand. More precisely, there is roulette and blackjack, so this is like poker or even worse, you CANNOT PLAY them! You can only play slots, where if the casino gives, then you can get a lot even with a small bet. + you also understand that you are playing in the minus and the casino basically pushes, so with a small win - you take it calmly and leave without putty, in poker it is very difficult to stop, for example. For me personally, the casino is 100 times more plus than poker, because I deposit 50-100 bucks and enjoy the game without the risk of losing all the money. By the way, if you get putty in a casino, then you probably don't know that I am 100% sure that there is a putty filter there, when it turns on - you don't win anything at all! Therefore, you should always play in casinos without putty The poker question - closed forever.
It finally dawned on me that there is no point in playing in a casino at stakes higher than $ 5-10. For a casino, this is the limit. If you want to go higher, you need to find other things
